Lit Motors C1
The C1 is an electric scooter-car from a startup company from San Fransisco, U.S. The company was founded in 2010 and is backed by Larry Page, a co-founder of Google. Since 2016, both Apple and Audi have shown interest in an acquisition but the company continued on its own and in 2023 it announced that the C1 is production ready and that it is accepting orders. The company plans to have sold 1,00,000 units by 2031.
The scooter-car contains an innovative dual gyroscope based self-balancing system with 800 Nm torque. The self balancing system is capable to keep the motorcycle stable during a crash.
How much force would it take to knock the C1 on its side? According to Lit Motors: "a small elephant would have to hit it broadside to put the C1 on the ground."
The C1 has a strong steel unibody chassis, seat-belts and airbags. The vehicle is equipped with the latest technologies for safety, including ABS brakes.
The C1 has two 20,000 watt electric motors in both wheels (two-wheel drive, 2WD) for a total power of 40,000 watt.
The scooter-car has a powerful Lithium battery for an effective driving range of 273.6 km. The charge time is 240 minutes using a regular home outlet charger.
The scooter has a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) or regenerative braking in which energy from braking is returned to the battery.
The C1 provides comfortable space for two passengers and room for luggage.
The scooter-car is available in any color and with a custom business print.
The scooter-car can be ordered online and is shipped worldwide.
